Sile where has old history, is a town that neighbour of Black Sea. There are historical buildings that left from Constantinople and Ottoman Empire. Sile lantern is the biggest lanterns of Turkey. It is the first big lantern of Turkey and second biggest lantern of the World.

The area around Ağva was a part of ancient Bithynia. During the Ottoman era, Turkmen people were settled around Ağva. Up to 20th century, a sizable Greek population also dwelled in Ağva. However, according to population exchange between Greece and Turkey agreement in the 1920s, they were replaced by Turks from Greece.
Şile and Agva were previosly small fisherman village in istanbul located in black Sea.
